The ‘jugaad’ system

Picture this: there is a guy on the highway and suddenly his motorbike stops working because he’s out of gas, so his friend takes a long rope and connects his motorbike to the bike which is not working. Then both the guys sit on their respective vehicles and the friend tows the motorbike all the way to the gas station -using a rope. Now, you might be thinking: why didn't they just call a tow truck? Honestly, I was thinking the same thing. But look around. People are making easy -but sometimes risky-  fixes to everyday problems. They are using their minds and being creative in different ways. I have seen so many people execute these ideas that they have and most of the time they actually work!

‘Jugaad’ is the Hindi term for ‘makeshift’ or ‘an improvised arrangement’.

Sometimes we meet situations in which the only solution is to improvise. You would be astonished when you realize how much we improvise. We improvise when we give speeches, we improvise on our test answers. You can't deny it, we all do it. But here's the thing: There are certain times when we have to improvise and certain times when we have to stick to the best fix. Deciding when to do what is your call. It’s fine to swap out sugar for honey in a cake but I wouldn't really recommend towing your friend's vehicle with a rope.

An innovative idea never goes to waste especially if it provides a quick fix. You have to analyze the situation you are in and once you have taken a look at all the ups and downs it should be pretty easy to make a decision. Being able to think in such a way is crucial and being able to make the right decision is essential. So, the next time life gives you lemons, make lemonade:)
